You Can ‘Catch a Crook’ During Annual Crime Stoppers Run
There is still time to register for the third annual Crime Stoppers Run set for Saturday, February 4th in Downtown Lufkin.
Those interested in running have their choice between a chip-timed 5K or 10K race, while kids can enjoy a one-mile dash. The races leave from First Baptist Church following a shotgun start from this year's capital sponsor, Lufkin ER. There will be prizes for the top male and female runners and age group winners as well as participatory awards for kids.
This year's event will also offer 'catch a crook, get a prize.' Crooks will pop up throughout the race course and runners who manage to capture their flags will be awarded prizes from the run's generous sponsors.
Entry cost is $20 for the kids run, $30 for the 5K and $40 for the 10K.
Day-of registrations will be accepted for an additional $5.
