Given the extreme heat and dry conditions that we've had here since the beginning of Summer, I think I can speak for many fellow East Texans when I say, "When is Fall going to get here...and stay?!"

I have heard that a strong 'El Nino' could make for a cooler and wetter Winter for our area, but we may have to wait until November or December for that pattern to entrench.

In fact, the atmospheric scientists at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) have released a video that details what El Nino is expected to bring to the U.S. in December and January.  If the stats and tendencies in this video hold true then maybe we can begin the process of getting some of our ponds and lakes filled back to capacity.
