Corey Clemens is an officer with the Diboll Police Department, and in February he was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. He started his protocol of radiation and chemotherapy treatments shortly thereafter.  He has since completed that protocol and is now awaiting follow up appointments and tests to gauge his recovery. Officer Clemens has used up all of his leave time and is currently on FMLA. This journey has been long and costly, and many area residents and businesses have stepped up through the past few months to help.

With that being said, there is a huge event coming up this Sunday, June 27 benefitting Clemens.  It will be held from 1 pm to 6 pm at the Diboll Civic Center, located at 601 Dennis Street.

There will be live entertainment from The Crimestoppers Band, David Allen Band, and the Drifters.  There will also be acoustic shows by Jesse Loving and Mike Helm. Also showing up at the event will be Gator Conley who was in the movie Urban Cowboy.

There is a $5 charge to get into the event, but that will also get you a ticket for all of the door prize drawings taking place. At 4 pm, don't miss out on the live auction that will be presented by Bill Marlin Auctioneers. There will also be a car, bike and jeep show at the fundraiser.  Entry fee for that is $10.  Be sure and come hungry for a BBQ sandwich plate which will cost $10.

Anyone wanting more information or who would like to donate items for the event may contact Steve Price at 936-707-4469 or Chastity Bullock at 936-635-3919.
