Two felony arrests were made late Sunday night (5/14) by Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office (NCSO) deputies after the confiscation of methamphetamine.  

Deputies conducted a traffic stop around 11:30 pm Sunday night on a Harley Davidson motorcycle for a traffic violation on highway 21 West of Nacogdoches. The driver and lone occupant was identified as Martin Dorsett. He was very nervous toward deputies after being stopped. Deputies gained consent to search and found over 8 grams of crystal methamphetamine on his person. Dorsett was arrested and transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail and Charged with Possession of a controlled substance a 2nd felony. Bond was set at $25,000.00 dollars.

Later, NCSO deputies conducted a traffic stop early Monday morning around 1:30 on County Road 117. The vehicle was occupied by two occupants who were both very nervous and gave conflicting statements. After obtaining consent to search, deputies found marijuana and methamphetamine on Amanda Thigpen who was the passenger in the vehicle. Over 1 gram of crystal methamphetamine was confiscated along with a small amount of marijuana. Thigpen was arrested on Possession of a controlled substance, a 3rd degree felony, and possession of marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor.

Bond has been set at $16,500.00 dollars. Thigpen was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail.

Both subjects are from Nacogdoches County.
