(From Lufkin PD press release)

The Lufkin Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating two Lufkin men wanted in connection to a Wednesday evening aggravated robbery.
Warrants have been issued for the arrests of Atiba Nicholson, 19, and Milan “Milo” White, 20, (pictured above) for an incident at Greenbriar Apartment No. 523 in which a man was pistol-whipped and robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash. The man identified Nicholson and White, along with a third suspect, Kendall Bryant, 19, of Lufkin.

The victim said the men forced their way inside his friend’s apartment when he opened the door –Bryant and Nicholson armed with pistols. He said they demanded money and when he refused, they pushed him down, punched him and then one of them hit him with their gun. The men managed to get the victim’s wallet out of his back pocket during the struggle. They then fled the scene in a light blue Jaguar with the victim’s wallet and backpack.

Bryant was arrested early Friday morning on a charge of aggravated robbery, while the two additional suspects remain at large. White is described as 5’11, 165 pounds, while Nicholson is 5’5, 115 pounds. Anyone with information on their whereabouts can call our non-emergency number at 936-633-0356 or if they wish to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 936-639-TIPS.

An investigation is also underway into a Thursday night shooting outside the same apartment, but it is unknown at this time if the two incidents are connected.

In that 8 p.m. incident, John Richard, 22, of Lufkin, walked up on two men in ski masks, wearing hoodies at the doorstep of No. 523. Richard said he uttered an expletive when he realized what the men were doing and a struggle ensued, but he was able to break free.
He said it was while he was running away that one of the men shot him. Richard suffered a superficial wound to his back and was immediately taken by his girlfriend to Woodland Heights Medical Center. He was treated, released and taken into custody on an unrelated warrant for no driver’s license.

“It appears the man was just in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Public Relations Specialist Jessica Pebsworth said. “He had loaned one of the men who lived in apartment No. 523 some money and was holding onto that individual’s laptop until the money was repaid. He intended to collect money from the man and return the laptop.”

The renter of the apartment – Rolando Hernandez, 20, of Lufkin – was taken to jail on an unrelated warrant for no insurance. He also admitted to having marijuana in his pocket at the time and was charged additionally with possession.

That investigation is ongoing.
