Lufkin Police Respond to Fatal Car Crash on Tulane Drive

According to Lufkin Police, at 8:12 Tuesday evening, officers were called to the scene of a one-vehicle fatality in the 1500 block of Tulane Drive.

The male driver of a later-model Chevy Camaro was eastbound on Tulane Drive when he drifted across the road, overcorrected and hit a tree in front of a home. The man was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected out of the passenger side.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Billy Ball.

The man’s name will not be released, pending family notification.

The crash remains under investigation.
