Things come and things go. That was the case with the Sears that was located in the Lufkin Mall. For as long as I could remember, it was Sears. However, last year, it closed down. It was one of many locations that was shut down across the nation. Now, big changes seem to be happening at the mall where Sears once was.

The first thing that we noticed is that the entrances where the Sears logos were seem have been painted over. There's no outline of the previous lettering above the doors. You can see this in the pictures below:

The more obvious evidence that something is going on is actually behind the store. If you go behind the mall, this is what you'll find:

So, there are storage containers and equipment located behind the store. Granted, they could just be there for clean-up purposes, such as getting the old shelves and things out. However, it raises the question, if there weren't already plans for it, why paint the outside of the building?

If you have any information on what's going in the old Sears location in the Lufkin Mall, sound off in the comments below. Or, if you might just have a theory of what's going on, we want to hear those as well. There have been rumors of Toys 'R' Us re-opening, so could that be a possibility? Who knows?
