Tropical Storm Heading for South Texas
We have good news and we have bad news. First the good news. It's going to rain, a lot, in South and Central Texas in the coming days. The bad news? It's because of a tropical storm now moving across the Gulf of Mexico and heading straight for the lower Texas coast.
It's the fourth named storm of the season, Tropical Storm Don, and it formed several days ago near Mexico's northern Yucatán Peninsula.
The National Hurricane Center says most computer models show the storm making landfall late Friday or early Saturday, placing the storm anywhere from Brownsville to Port O’Connor.
Many predictions have Corpus Christi in the cross hairs.
This tropical storm will bring a lot of welcome rain to a state that is bone dry from months of the worst drought in the state's history. We can only hope that some of that rain will fall in east Texas.
