There are a lot of events going on this weekend in the oldest town. Things are getting back to normal this year with the Lighted Christmas Parade Saturday, December 4th, 2021.

Even though it's Christmas time, it's Texas. It's rare that the weather would cooperate, but luckily this year will be better.  Saturday for the Nine Flags Festival it will be a balmy 77 degrees.

As crowds start to gather for the lighted Christmas parade the sun will go down and the temperature will drop 10 to 15 degrees pretty quickly. If you have a cold-natured friend that seeks out warmth or refuses to wear pants, what can you do?

The Fredonia Brewery Patio Is Heated

Luckily for people in the know, the Fredonia Brewery is right along the parade route. You could watch the parade, while you enjoy some pints on the heated patio.

They open from noon until 10 pm this Saturday, so you can watch the parade right from the beer garden. The Fredonia Brewery is family and dog friendly so bring them all.

There is plenty of beer. It is a brewery, but they also have water and soda available. Get fed with Rebellion Pizza and The Eat A Bite Food truck on site.

How Did Fredonia Brewery Get Its Name

The Nine Flags Festival is all about Nacogdoches history. Nacogdoches is named for the Caddo family of Indians who once lived there.

I thought it was only fitting that I included a bit about the history of the Fredonia Brewery.

Nestled one block from the brick streets in historic downtown Nacogdoches, the oldest town in Texas, sits our brewery. Our name originates from the short-lived albeit influential Fredonia Rebellion and the Fredonia Republic 1826 -1827. This uprising signaled the beginnings of the Texas Revolution. Our town celebrated its 300th-anniversary in 2016, and we are proud to be the first brewery here since the 1850s.
