THE NINE FLAGS FESTIVAL IS BACK!

One of the biggest Christmas celebrations in the Pineywoods is happening this Saturday in Downtown Nacogdoches. The Nine Flags Christmas Festival is back! Visit Nacogdoches is excited to host the Nine Flags Festival on the Square on Saturday, December 4th from 11am-4pm.
The Festival will feature food trucks, vendor booths, coffee & hot chocolate, and live music throughout the day on the back stage of the Visitor Center!

TAKE A TOUR THROUGH BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED HOMES

You can break away from the Festival for a while and head out for the annual Christmas Tour of Homes. Five beautifully decorated historic homes on this year's tour. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in advance at the Nacogdoches CVB.  They can also be purchased the day of at any of the homes. The Christmas Tour of Homes will take place from 11 am to 3 pm.

AWESOME PARADE AND DAZZLING FIREWORKS

Last year, the Nacogdoches Lighted Christmas Parade was cancelled for safety reasons, but this year, it's back to the brick streets of Downtown Nacogdoches!  It starts at 6:30 pm. This year's theme is... "Rocking Down the Brick Streets!"

The Lighted Christmas Parade has been a Nacogdoches tradition for many years. In 2015, the Nacogdoches Area United Way took over the organization of the event. Parade entries come from local businesses, schools, churches, and individuals, and include decorated floats, vehicles, and walking groups.  The event culminates with an annual fireworks display south of downtown for all guests to enjoy once the parade has exited the area.

LAST MINUTE GRAND MARSHAL SWITCH

This year's grand marshal was scheduled to be Debbie Humphreys, head volleyball coach at SFA, in recognition of her legendary success in leading the program.  However, the SFA Volleyball Team will be playing in a post-season tournament that conflicts with the parade.

Representatives with the Nacogdoches Area United Way are proud to reveal that the new grand marshal will still be flaunting the 'Axe 'em, Jacks' sign.  The SFA Football Team, who advanced to the playoffs for the first time since 2014, will be leading the parade down the historic brick streets.

Here's a look at some memories from past Christmas Parades in Nacogdoches
