Dan Patrick was born in Webster Texas with a full head of hair and mouthful of teeth. He would commonly escape his crib, jumping over the side at 6 months. He was walking at 9 months and running at 10. His parents met while going to SFA University in Nacogdoches. His mother a teacher, sang in the choir at church. His dad sometimes filled in for Music Directors at churches across East Texas, and weekdays was a Butcher. Dan ran sound for the churches while his dad led the music. From these modest beginnings, at the age of 18 he moved out of his parents’ home and went to Nashville. Playing bass guitar in great bands, never really paid the bills . After months of eating sunflower seeds and peanut butter, he came back to Lufkin with hopes to change all that, but do something that kept to his passion for music. While going to school he applied at K-Fox 955, and got on as a part-timer. He would push buttons, and do live shows late at night on weekends like the K-Fox Alternative. Spending his days at various women’s dorms at SFA, then back at night to do shows. Dan eventually moved his way up, and started at afternoons on K-Fox 955, and has been there ever since, enjoying the music and loves all of the people of East Texas, and especially his listeners.
