Numerous Area Teams Still Alive in the Baseball/Softball Playoffs

At a time when so many students are concentrating on graduation and what lies ahead for the upcoming Summer break, there are quite a few student-athletes that are still focused on bringing home a state championship.

We're getting deep into the baseball and softball playoffs across the Lone Star State, and quite a few teams from the Pineywoods are still battling.  Here's a look at the upcoming schedule.

UIL BASEBALL PLAYOFFS

Class 4A - Regional Semi-finals

Hudson Hornets vs Bellville Brahmas - Best of 3

• Game 1 - Thursday, May 27 - 7 pm at Madisonville High School
• Game 2 - Saturday, May 29 - 1 pm at Sam Houston State in Huntsville
• Game 3 (if necessary) - 30 minutes following game 2

Rusk Eagles vs Orangefield Bobcats - 1 game series

• Thursday, May 27 - 7 pm at Sam Houston State in Huntsville

Class 3A - Regional Semi-final

Woodville Eagles vs Malakoff Tigers - Best of 3 at Nacogdoches High School

• Game 1 - Thursday, May 27 - 7 pm
• Game 2 - Saturday, May 29 - 2 pm
• Game 3 (if necessary) - 30 minutes following game 2

Class 2A - Regional Semi-finals

Garrison Bulldogs vs McLeod Longhorns - Best of 3 at Marshall High School

• Game 1 - Thursday, May 27 - 5pm
• Game 2 - 30 minutes following game 1
• Game 3 (if necessary) - Saturday, May 29 - 12 noon

Alto Yellowjackets vs Rivercrest Rebels - Best of 3 at Mike Carter Field in Tyler

• Game 1 - Thursday, May 27 - 5 pm
