State police say the driver of the car that collided with an 18-Wheeler Saturday night had been drinking.

Three Stephen F. Austin students were killed in the accident, and one was injured.  Blood test results are still pending, but police think the driver, 19-year old Kevin Garcia, was under the influence of alcohol when he attempted a u-turn from the shoulder of the road, and entered the path of an oncoming 18-wheeler.

Passengers in the car with him at the time - 18-year old Patrick Fagan of Missouri City, 23-year old Hunter Buck of Bastrop, and 21-year old Kamilla Burgos-Carillo of Mexico - all died as a result of their injuries.  Garcia is in the hospital in Tyler with internal injuries and a broken leg.  KTRE says he hasn't been told yet about the fate of his three friends.

Last night, some SFA students gathered on campus at Spirit Rock to remember the three.  And if you're seeing #prayersforSFA on Twitter today, that's why.  Students are taking to social media to remember the three, and send condolences to the families.
