What Really Happened To The Fidget Spinner?
Last year, every kid wanted a fidget spinner, and there were tons of people lobbying to have them allowed in the classrooms. Now, they seem to have disappeared. Remember these?
Parents and non-parents alike all over the nation were lobbying to make schools allow fidget spinners in the classrooms. There were claims of the TOYS - I mean, let's be real, and call them what they are - helping out with cases of ADHD and other attention problems.
However, now that the hype surrounding them has died out, I'm not seeing any of the spinners on shelves at the stores, much less in the hands of students. These were supposed to be the next big thing. What happened to them?
Perhaps the parents got tired of them, because they became more of a distraction than an aid. The very people lobbying for them saw that they were more of a hindrance to attention, rather than assistance with it.
Maybe enough teachers finally had their voices heard about the spinners, causing the authority figures to ban them.
But I think the thing that really happened, is that the very ones using the fidget spinners - whether they were legitimately using them for attention purposes, or just using them as an excuse to keep something "cool" in hands at all times - got bored with them. Honestly, there wasn't a lot of room for improving or upgrading these, so they kind of went by the wayside, causing them to be forgotten.
What do you think happened to the "revolutionary" fidget spinner? Let us know in the comment section below.
