Angelina College softball player Lynsey Mitchell’s big day against Jarvis Christian College this past Friday didn’t just create a buzz among teammates. Her numbers also landed her Player of the Week honors from more than one organization.

Mitchell, a sophomore from Liberty Hill, finished Friday’s twin bill with five homers and 17 runs batted in. Her three-homer, 11 RBI effort in the first game set a school record in the latter category.

For her efforts, Mitchell earned Player of the Week honors from both Region XIV and the National Junior College Athletic Association Fastpitch News.
