How To Not Lose Your Kids In Public This Summer
Every year at 4th of July Firework displays kids get lost. Sometimes it's hard to keep track of your kids at a large event with tons of people.
This year at the 4th Of July Fireworks at Ellen Trout Park, there were only two missing children. Both were reunited quickly after announcements were made on the stage.
One of the children was 3 years old, and refused to give officers his name, or couldn't. That is understandable, he was only 3.
There is still a lot of summer to go, and things are opening back up. If you are thinking of taking your kids to a big event, theme park, or any other busy location, here are some hints to keep them safe, and get them back to you quickly.
Before taking off on any trip take a picture of your kid. This way you will know exactly what they are wearing, their hairstyle, and you'll have easy access to an up to date photo.
Take your child's arm and write your phone number somewhere on it. Cover the ink with liquid bandaid, so it won't rub, or wash off. Do it the morning of the event, so it will be fresh, this will really help with any potential search.
The tried and true buddy system is a great way to keep everyone together. Go over the lost rules head of time, so they will know what they should do.
Stay alert, and have an arranged meeting place. If someone gets lost, tell them to head for the landmark and stay put. Assure them that you will be there.
Technological advances are making things easier to find, and you could apply them to people. Get them an Apple air tag, and put it on a necklace. Sometimes cell service at huge events is spotty, so this one might not work, it's always good the other hints going for you.
