We've discussed this before. I know I can't be the only one. Who else has come to the conclusion that Nacogdoches should bring in a Buc-ee's? I mean, come on, clean bathrooms, all kinds of food and other merchandise, beaver nuggets (which get their own category), a new - HUGE - gas station...I could go on, but I think that covers a lot already.

But, is it even a remote possibility for Nacogdoches?

The last time we asked about this, we got a few mixed reviews. Some of the arguments against the idea were things like the fact that they didn't want that many trees cleared and replaced with concrete and a parking lots, and that, since Nacogdoches is a college town, it wouldn't be a great addition because the town population changes so much during the year with students moving in and out.

But, there were a lot of positive considerations, as well. The fact that it is a new business, bringing in new jobs, and helping out the economy is a big deal - obviously. Plus, it helps with tourism in town. People stop at Buc-ee's, they take a look around while they're stopped, and the come back again and again. Then, another argument we've heard is that it would be a nice add-on to go along with the work that's being done on the interstate. I don't know all of the particulars, but that makes sense to me.

So yes, there are pros and cons. But - again - is it even a remote possibility for Nacogdoches? Who would even start that discussion? Any ideas?
