Have Your Registered Your Vehicle In Texas?
On March 16th 2020 the State of Texas put a hold on Texas vehicle title and registrations. Some Texan's have been driving around with out of date registration. Some with out of date paper tags flapping in the breeze. Paper tags are strangely one of my biggest pet peeves.
Once this waver from the state goes out on Wednesday April 14th, 2021, law enforcement will start giving out tickets again. If you don't have proper title and registration. There are lots of options to get this done, first you take it to get an inspection. Then you go to your county tax accessors office. You have just days to get this situation rectified, if you already haven't. Get your vehicle registered by April 14th, 2021 to avoid getting pulled over and or ticketed. Police don't usually pull people over for an expired registration tag, but it is a possible. Usually it's when you get pulled over for another infraction, that on top of that ticket, you will get another ticket for your registration being out.
Back on March 1st, 2015 we started the Texas Two Step. Before this time, we had 2 stickers gumming up our windshield in Texas. One for the inspection, and one for the registration.
Before that we got little tags that went on the license plate. I really wish we could still do that, but theft was a real issue, and it happed a lot. You still get little stickers like that for trailers and motorcycles. I might get one just to get a plate sticker and relive those glory days.
