Today, at approximately 1:42 PM CST, social media giant Facebook went completely blank for about five minutes. During this time, if you logged in, all you would see on your computer was a completely blank, white screen.

However, if you opened up Facebook via smart device (i.e. phone, tablet, etc.) it seemed that the app was working just fine. The only problem seemed to occur on the desktop version.

So, what really happened? Well, here in Deep East Texas, we have come to some definite conclusions.

  1. The world DID NOT come to a screeching halt for those few minutes.
  2. The level of pointless bickering dropped tremendously during that time.
  3. People looked away from smart devices for the first time in years.

But, our most important discovery wasn't within the scope of those three points. Our last discovery was by far the biggest one. Are you ready for this? Are you absolutely certain that you're prepared?

Alright. Our final, most important discovery was this: Here in Deep East Texas, we have absolutely NO IDEA about what happened to Facebook. Sun spots, hacking, aliens, government intervention, all-you-can-eat buffet riots, miscellaneous cat compilation video overload...I mean, come on, the possibilities are endless.

There you have it. All of our findings. It took a whopping three and a half minutes for us to compile it, and now it's completely open to you.

You're welcome.
