Severe storms causing widespread damage across the Pineywoods has become an all too common occurrence this Spring.  Thankfully, this latest round of squall lines didn't produce any tornadoes, however straight line winds gusting to over 60 mph did their share of damage.

There were numerous reports of downed trees and power lines on roadways, structures, and cars (including the one pictured above in Nacogdoches).  Quite a few power outages occurred across the region as well.  An overturned 18-wheeler at the intersection of Highway 59 and FM 2497 caused southbound traffic on 59 to go contraflow in one lane.

Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for a number of East Texas counties beginning just after 5 am.  Houston, Trinity, Angelina, Nacogdoches, Polk, Sabine, Shelby, and San Augustine counties were all affected by the severe storms.
