If you have a pet you know how much they like their beds. Even a blanket to stay warm is a luxury item for shelter animals.

The weather will be turning cooler soon here in Lufkin. The Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter is asking for your help.

They are looking for larger, thick blankets to use in their dog kennels to keep them off of the cold, concrete floor. If you are cold they are cold.

What Types Of Blankets?

The first requirement of any of the blankets is the size. They should be able to fit in a regular sized washer and dryer for cleaning.

The blankets should also be machine washable and heat dryer safe. Take a look around your house and see what you can donate.

New or used blankets are welcome. If you have any blankets, quilts, or bedding the shelter will put them to good use.

Send New Blankets

You can send new blankets via Amazon. The shelter has a wish list at Amazon, but you can actually order anything from Amazon and have it shipped directly to the shelter.

Choose where your donation goes by using the alternate address feature. Change it to the Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter 1901 Hill Street Lufkin, TX 75904.

This is a great way to get your Amazon fix without filling up your own house. Shopping is fun, and opening boxes is time consuming.
