My son watched Thomas the Tank Engine when he was little and was enamored with all things transportation. If you have a kid that loves trains this is a quick place to pop in and witness some Christmas magic.
The Loblolly Model Train display is a tradition at the Nacogdoches Railroad Depot. It really adds to this historic site and transports you back to a simpler time.

Nacogdoches Railroad Depot
The Nacogdoches Railroad Depot is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1911 after a lightning strike burned the original wooden depot down.
They are normally open for tours Thursday - Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. There is a transportation museum inside now that highlights the history of the railroad in our community.
It was in operation for 43 years acting as a hub of transportation for all of Nacogdoches. Many a WWII soldier departed from Nacogdoches from this very station.
Veterans Seak Peak
Veterans got an early look at the Loblolly Model Train exhibit last Saturday, November 6th, 2021. This was to highlight their new military additions in honor of the 80th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
