18-Wheeler Collided With Traffic Light In Lufkin

Around 5pm yesterday an 18-Wheeler hit the traffic light leaving Lufkin to Houston on HWY59/I69 at South Street And College. If you plan on traveling that way, you shouldn't notice much, except for some symbolic red tape. Just be cautious in the area, things are going smoothly, but there are repairs still to come so be cautious.

TRAFFIC ALERT: An 18-wheeler just collided with the traffic light at College Drive at South First Street. This occurred in the southbound lane.

The traffic light is no longer working due to the accident. TxDOT is enroute to the scene with temporary stop signs.

Avoid to area if at all possible. Expect delays, use caution and slow down! We are working as quickly as possible to get the scene cleared.
