Every night on our KICKS 105 Friday Night Frenzy, we select the You So Totally Rock Top Ten Teams of the Night sponsored by Whataburger  This honor is reserved for those high school football teams that had an awesome game or continue to dominate or did something very special at their game.

Here are this week's Top Ten Teams (in no particular order)

LUFKIN PANTHERS

Not many folks were giving the Pack a chance at taking down the #3 team in the state.  But, Lufkin used a pick-six and a 99-yard touchdown run to win convincingly against A&M Consolidated on the road. Lufkin remains undefeated as they get ready to open district play against the top-ranked Lobos of Longview.

HEMPHILL HORNETS

I don't think there is another football team in Deep East Texas that is dominating their opponents like the Hornets are.  Week one: 44-0, Week two: 61-12, Week three: 64-16. Why isn't Hemphill ranked in the top 10 in Class 3A-Division 2?

WHITEHOUSE WILDCATS

Last year, the home team of Patrick Mahomes had an unorthodox year in that they only won a total of two games and missed the playoffs. That was then, this is now.  The Wildcats have turned things around and rolled off three straight impressive victories to start the season.

RUSK EAGLES

The Eagles improved to 3-0 on the year with a crazy come-from-behind victory on homecoming against Athens.  Rusk scored the final 17 points of the game including a field goal with six seconds left to win.

CORRIGAN-CAMDEN BULLDOGS

The Bulldogs remain unbeaten on the season after slipping past Kirbyville on Friday.  This team does great things on the field and off the field.  Their 9/11 tribute to heroes and first responders this past Friday night was awesome.

WOODVILLE EAGLES

Woodville continues to roll.  They followed up their upset win over Newton with a road win over Liberty. It's still early, but don't be surprised to see the Eagles make some noise in the playoffs this year.

CROCKETT BULLDOGS

The Bulldogs rebounded from last week's loss to Rusk with an impressive comeback win against Buna. In both of their wins this year, Jasper has shown great grit to make up ground and come away with the victory.

LOVELADY LIONS

Like Hemphill, this team has been showing its dominance with an average margin of victory of over 30 points. I think the Lions will soon be ranked in the top ten in the state.

TIMPSON BEARS

They are number one in the state in Class 2A - Division 1, and this past Friday night they showed why. The Bears took on Daingerfield, the number 2 team in the state in Class 3A - Division 2. It was close early, but Timpson flexed their muscles and ran away with the win 54-28.

CARTHAGE BULLDOGS

The number one ranked Bulldogs eased their way to a 41-0 victory over a San Antonio Cornerstone. Just how good is Carthage? This week they take on 5A powerhouse Marshall.  This should be a game worth the price of admission.

Be sure to join us every week for Friday Night Frenzy powered by Kelly's Truck Parts beginning at 9 pm on KICKS 105.

Top 10: These Are Texas’ Most Expensive High School Football Stadiums in '22

There's a reason every good high school football movie is based in Texas. Here in the Lone Star State Friday nights are revered and our young men in football pads exalted to legends in their hometowns. In fact as of last year, Texas is only second to Florida (by two players) as the state with the most players in the NFL.
