Picking out a Halloween costume can be quite the experience for kids and adults alike. And, if you're in Nacogdoches, it seems to be an even bigger experience for the Lumberjack college students. (I don't know why, that's just the way it is.)

But what's the most popular Halloween costume in East Texas?

We discovered a website created by Google called Frightgeist that tells us the exact local info. We can even filter it locally or nationally, depending on preference. The results from our local area are listed below:

  1. Dinosaur
  2. Superhero
  3. Unicorn
  4. Spider
  5. Toy Story

There you have it. According to Frightgeist, the people in our area that are prepping for Halloween 2019 are prehistoric, Marvel, fantasy, arachnid, Disney fans. When you switch over to the national scene, the results come out like this:

  1. It
  2. Witch
  3. Spiderman
  4. Dinosaur
  5. Descendants

And that's only the top five nationally. They actually list the top 50 there, but we'll stick with five here. I mean, everyone knew the creepy Stephen King clown was going to be at the top of the list, right?

As a kid, and now as an adult, I never really got into the Halloween costume bit. A big part of it was not living close enough to anyone else to go trick-or-treating. Another big part was, well, I just didn't get into it.

But, if you do, I say go for it. Hopefully this list that we found will help you out. Maybe you want to dig a little deeper and see what other costumes are popular this year. Check it out!
