One little hidden gem could quickly become your favorite vacation lake, and it takes just a few hours to get there.  I mean, who wouldn't love a summer afternoon on a trapeze swing?  And the lake is named after one of your favorite foods too.

We all want to have fun and relax on a summer vacation, but we don't necessarily want to pay big bucks for it.  One East Texas city is getting some notice for being one of the best cheap vacation spots in the state.

Texas didn't make the Top 10 on the list of bucket list states to visit, but it got me thinking about the big secrets that East Texas does offer, and I have to ask.  What's the one thing that's a must-do for visitors in Lufkin?

So, we know how crowded Nac is whenever SFA students are in town. But, when the students AREN'T there, there are lots of enjoyable ways to spend time.

If you're planning a vacation to ski country, you might have to wait.  Thanksgiving weekend is usually a big one for ski resorts, but most of them had to delay openings this year because of a lack of snow. Some of the projected openings are in mid to late December now.

We rock the beer and barbecue in Texas, but when it comes to having the biggest draws for tourists, we're left completely off the "best of the best" list.  We don't have Yosemite or Yellowstone, and the closest "best" tourist destination is about 1200 miles away.  BUT, see why this may be a good thing.

We tend to associate the end of summer and the arrival of fall with going back to school or getting back to work, as the vacation season is over. But that doesn’t have to be the case. The northern hemisphere contains some pretty remarkable fall destinations, perfect for weekend adventures or even weeklong getaways...

Some museums preserve our history and cultures. Other museums provide interesting entertainment at bargain prices. And still other museums merely give you somewhere to duck into when it suddenly starts raining and you have no umbrella. You can decide which categories these rather strange museums fall into.
