NISD Student Arrested After Snapchat Threat In Nacogdoches, Texas
On Monday, February 21, 2022, Nacogdoches ISD received a threat through Snapchat directed at Nacogdoches High School. The threat on the social media site was investigated by Nacogdoches ISD Police and other campus staff.
The Nacogdoches High School campus was put on hold, while the threat was evaluated. NHS released the hold during fourth period and classes went back to normal at that time.
Though there were no credible threats at the school, they do take these events very seriously. The safety of the students and staff is their number one priority.
Fake Social Media Threat Leads To Students Arrest in Nacogdoches, Texas
Earlier today, Tuesday, February 22, 2022, a Nacogdoches Independent School District student was arrested. This student was then charged with Terroristic Threat, Felony 3.
In Texas that's a maximum of 2-10 years and a $10,000 fine. The actual sentencing won't come for some time and can vary depending on the circumstances and the actor's personal history.
They also went on to say at nacisd.org that the arrest of a second student was "imminent". The date on the calendar - 02/22/22 might have been the catalyst for all of these events.
Disturbing Image Posted on Snapchat Directed at Nacogdoches High School
Today there was a disturbing image going around Snapchat that was also a hoax. It supposedly depicted a school shooting at Nacogdoches High School.
Nacogdoches ISD Police have stated that this is a hoax, and there has not been a shooting on campus or any other real related incident at the school.
The author of that post has also been identified and is not an NISD student.
