Many Texas Ties to This Week’s College Bowl Games
We've got Texas teams playing in bowl games this week, and more Texas cities are hosting bowl games too. We'll lay it out for ya, so it's a little easier to navigate from the couch.
Houston is the site for tonight's Texas Bowl (Wednesday 12/27) between Texas and Missouri. It will probably feel like a home game for the Longhorns since Austin is a much shorter drive than Columbus and--well, the game is in Texas. The Texas Bowl kicks off at 8pm Central from NRG Stadium. Tickets are still available if you want to buzz down there.
The Alamo is happening tomorrow night (Thursday 12/28) in San Antonio, and TCU and Stanford face off in that one. Again, kind of a home game for our Texas team, right? Horned Frog fans will stream down from Fort Worth to San Antonio and hang out on the Riverwalk too, I bet. Kickoff is at 8pm and it's on ESPN. Tickets are still available.
The Aggies play in the Belk Bowl in Charlotte, NC. It's Texas A&M against Wake Forest, and that will be at noon on Friday 12/29, on ESPN.
AT&T Stadium hosts the Cotton Bowl Classic on Friday, and that's USC against Ohio State. Kickoff is at 7:30pm Friday and it's on ESPN.
And we hear you Sooner fans. We'll not leave you out. Congrats on making the College Football Playoff Semifinal, and good luck against Georgia on New Year's Day. Clemson and Alabama meet in the other semi-final, and then we'll know who's in the National Championship game scheduled for January 8th.
Time to order a pizza and really get after it! With the bowl games and final week of the NFL season coming up, this is like Disneyland for football fans. Cheers.
