Movies in the Park is signaling the end of summer in Old Orchard park in Diboll. This time it's the classic 'Dirty Dancing'.

The event is Saturday, August 28th, 2021 at 8pm. It's put on by the T.L.L. Temple Memorial Library. Admission is free, but donations are accepted.

The movie will start when the sun goes down at around 8:30pm. Concessions will be available, and proceeds will benefit the library's public programs.

Bring Your Lawn Chairs

There will be some seating available, but to ensure you have a seat, you can bring your own. When the sun goes down you might even want a blanket.

It's been pretty hot outside lately, so I don't think that will apply to that evening. You could bring bug spray, that would be more likely to come in handy.

The movie is rated PG-13, or at least it was in the 80's when it came out. I think it's safe to bring the entire family to this one.

Make A Weekend Out Of It

Watch some videos on how to do the dances. Just imagine you are at Kellerman's Resort. Play some Dirty Dancing trivia with friends.

You could watch the movie in costume. You could go as Baby, or just tape some cardboard together and go as the corner.

Then get home and keep the magic going. Dress up and put on your dancing shoes.

What Even Is Dirty Dancing

Dirty Dancing is a movie that is now 34 years old. It came out on August 21st, 1987. This showing is real close to the original release date.

It was a hit that came out of nowhere. It was set in the 1960s with Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey in the starring role.
