It's reported that the Justin Bieber baby lawsuit has apparently gone bye-bye.

A 20 year old California woman had filed suit claiming the 17-year-old Canadian crooner fathered her child in October, but the suit was quietly dismissed last week, according to TMZ.com.

In addition, the gossip website also reported the lawyers representing the California woman have quit.

Bieber flatly denied he ever saw the woman, and her claims that he and she conceived the child after an October 2010 concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Her lawsuit demanded that Bieber take a DNA test, which she claimed would prove he is the father of the baby boy who was born this past July.

Bieber agreed to a DNA test, but he vowed that when it showed he wasn't the father, he would sue the mother.

His attorney said Bieber would “vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to protect Justin and to hold those involved with bringing this suit accountable for their actions.”

Justin's lawyer called the woman's attorneys to tell them a counter suit was looming, and they apparently got the message.  The suit was dismissed and the woman's lawyers quit.

It's also probable that someone finally got through to the woman and explained to her that if her story was true, she could have faced statutory rape charges, because Bieber was only 16 at the time of the alleged sexual encounter in 2010, which is under the legal age for consent in California.

This just proves that sometimes the best defense is a strong offense.
