Fire House Art Collective Grand Opening Saturday In Nacogdoches
Fire House Nac officially opens Saturday, September 25th, 2021. The opening exhibit is from 5 pm - 9 pm at 708 Swift Street in Nacogdoches, Texas. Come see all the amazing art that is being created in our community.
Fire House is an art collective and DIY space in Nacogdoches consisting of four resident artists. Dillon Graham, Brigette Kozash, Britt Mitchell, and Holden have been working in Nacogdoches and collaborating on projects.
This core group has been together for a few years, selling art at local fairs and traveling to events together. Fire House started as a common goal to create a space for local artists to thrive. A place where the four of them could work and create together and help other artists do the same.
How Does This Work?
Even if you have a studio at home, working in a collective space is a great way to find motivation. Interacting while others work, even in other mediums, could be just the spark you need to get back in the zone.
The plan is to make the collective fit the community's needs and adapt over time if those needs change. The collective is a blank canvas for your creativity.
The possibilities of the space and how to use it are limitless. The building itself consists of a gallery space in the front for exhibits, a private studio space, a large backyard, classes, shows, and more.
Immersive Art Displays Are Growing
The space will also contain two immersive display rooms. They are a relatively new way to experience art.
Within them, artists can express their creativity with fewer boundaries. Having the space to make this happen locally is a great thing for Nacogdoches.
Day-to-day the Fire House is an art studio. Creators are there producing stained glass, rug making, jewelry, clay work, and custom paintings working in a private studio setting.
There are also plans for more exhibits like what is happening this Saturday. Everything from art fairs, community collaborations, classes, to exhibits and further expansion of the art forms being made on-site are all on the table.
Even more community outreach is all part of the plan. The best way to keep up to date on Fire House and upcoming events is to follow Fire House Nac on Facebook.
