East Texas Walmart Workers Might Be Able to Wear Jeans
Walmart is testing out a new dress code in 100 stores, and that could mean changes in the way East Texas Walmart employees dress. Like capris and skorts!
Up until now, the Walmart dress code for employees has involved the navy blue polo with the Walmart logo, and khaki or black denim pants.
But now Walmart is testing out a new dress code that relaxes the rules a little bit, and if they decide the test cases get along okay with the new allowances, our East Texas friends at Wally World could be sportin' some skorts and other bottoms that vary in length. Still no yoga pants allowed. Sorry to disappoint, guys. I know you love 'em.
The new dress code would allow workers to wear jeans, jeggings, cargo pants, skorts, capris, chinos and slacks — as long as they are solid blue, black or khaki. The new rules would also allow dresses and skirts in any solid color, with small print or "low-contrast pattern," according to the employee handbook.
Several things would still banned, including leggings, yoga pants, wind suits, sweatpants, scrubs, overalls and pant legs that are too long and drag on the floor. And nothing with holes would fly, and they wouldn't allow anything bedazzled with jewels. Jeggings by the way, are a jean-legging combo, and apparently more acceptable than plain ole leggings. Jeggings might leave a little more to the imagination.
Whaddya think? Most of us go to Walmart looking rough with no make-up and hair in a bun in total comfort (or maybe that's just me). So maybe it's time the employees get a little free with the clothing choices too. Just don't get rid of the nametags! It gives us the chance to greet the greeter, which seems like the cool thing to do.
We'll keep you posted on the Walmart news for sure. Stay cool.
