Girls are going to be doing some barrel racing at a rodeo coming up later this week in Jacksonville.

The road trip will take you about an hour, and you'll see saddle bronc and bull riding too.

The Angelina Benefit Rodeo in late April in Lufkin mighta just wet yer whistle for some more good Texas rodeos this spring. Here ya go!

This Thursday in Jacksonville they'll kick off the 56th Annual Tops in Texas Rodeo with saddle bronc riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, calf roping, bareback riding and girl's barrel racing.  They'll give you a fishing tournament on Saturday too, plus a gun fighting show, and a clown contest which will be awesome unless you're one of those folks like me who's a little weirded out by clowns.  Then we might want to stick to mutton bustin'.

It's Thursday through Saturday, May 17th through 19th in Jacksonville at the Rodeo Arena at Bridge and Mulberry Street, and you can get tickets there at the gate for $12.

If you want 'em in advance for $10, the Norman Activity Center is the place, and that's at 526 E. Commerce, Jacksonville, TX 75766.  (903) 586-2218.  Oh, and Thursday night is free!
