If you've been procrastinating concerning that warrant with the City of Lufkin, now would be great time to take care of it before someone comes looking for you at work or home.

According to a press release, this month, the City of Lufkin Municipal Court is concentrating their efforts to address non-compliance with court orders. If you do not resolve your tickets now, you may be subject to arrest.

As part of this initiative, the Lufkin Municipal Court is offering amnesty if individuals come to court to address their outstanding obligations.  Individuals who voluntarily come to court may immediately see a judge and have the opportunity to have warrant fees on their cases waived.  If you are unable to come to court, you can also pay warrants online during the roundup period.

Arrests for the warrant round up will be conducted from Friday, March 22nd through Thursday, March 28th.  During those dates, the Lufkin Municipal Court will be open for extended hours on the following dates and times: Friday, March 22nd, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday, March 23rd  from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m., and Monday, March 25th through Wednesday, March 27th, from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Thursday, March 28th, from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

If you are stopped while driving your vehicle and arrested, your vehicle may be impounded, which would result in additional tow and storage fees.  Affected persons are urged to contact the Lufkin Municipal Court during the next three weeks to dispose of their cases voluntarily to avoid the inconvenience and embarrassment of arrest at home or work in front of family, friends, or co-workers. Please take care of your tickets now to avoid arrest.

If you voluntarily appear to take care of your tickets with Lufkin Municipal Court, you will not be arrested.  Lufkin Municipal Court is considered a safe harbor for those with class c warrants.

Payments (in full) may be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week online at http://www.cityoflufkin.com/click2gov.htm. Partial payments are not accepted online. You may also contact the Court at (936) 633-0315 for additional information.  The court is located at 222 E. Shepherd Avenue.
