Candy Craze In Lufkin Mall Closes For Good
Lufkin just got a little less sweet over the weekend.
For 15 years all things candy were available in the mall. Candy Craze closed their doors for the final time this Saturday. If you go to their website Lufkin is still listed as a location, but the pictures tell another story. Candy Craze is still going strong in lots of towns all over the mid-south, according to the website. This family owned bulk candy chain has been around since they opened their first store in Fort Smith, Ark back in 1993. But their roots go back even further, as they used to be known as the "Nut Hut" back in 1973. Guess we will have to travel to Texarkana or Beaumont to visit a Candy Craze.
Their bright white clean store was always inviting and the employees were friendly and helpful. So I guess you will have to stop by Brookshire Brothers before going to the movies in the mall if you are going to fill up your purse before you go to see your favorite flick.
I used to go in there and get giant bags of my favorite flavors of Jelly Belly's. Getting bulk of just the exact candy you wanted will be missed in East Texas.
