Angelina Wellness Summit Coming Next Week

It's called WWW, but it has nothing to do with the World Wide Web, or even the Internet.  Here in Lufkin, WWW stands for "Working With Wellness-Angelina", and it's a group of community leaders and medical professionals who will hold a health education summit in Lufkin next week.

One of the event's organizers says the summit will conduct “teach to reach” health awareness sessions with volunteers from dozens of employers of all sizes around the county.

The volunteers will then go back to their schools, churches and businesses to educate their co-workers and colleagues on the need for health wellness and lifestyle change, and how to achieve it.

Doctors, health professionals, and political leaders all say people who live healthy lifestyles live longer, and they don't strain medical resources and health insurers as much as people who don't live healthy lifestyles.

As Shakespeare put it in Hamlet, "a consummation devoutly to be wished."
