An East Texas American Legion Post is doing their best to help a disabled veteran get a new home, and you have the chance to help in the effort next weekend, just by showing up and having some fun.

On Saturday, June 22, the American Legion Riders Post 134 in Crockett will host their First Annual Bike Show and Poker Run.

Army SPC Justin Perez-Gorda was hurt two years ago in Afghanistan when a bomb went off, and he's been in a wheelchair since then.  The American Legion in Crockett wants Gorda to have a home that works for him - complete with wheelchair ramps and other things that will make life easier - so they've teamed up with Homes for Our Troops to build the home.  It's in Dripping Springs, near Austin, and proceeds from next Saturday's poker run will help finish the home.

The poker run is $20 per rider, and $10 per passenger, and they'll have barbecue plates for purchase, a silent auction, and more.
