1 Taken To Hospital After Truck VS. Bicycle Crash In Nacogdoches
On Sunday April 25th,2021 Nacogdoches Police responded to a major accident involving a person on a bike, and a 2019 Ford truck. The collision occurred near the 800 Block of Martin Luther King Blvd Sunday around 4:13pm. After receiving calls the officers arrived quickly to the scene. On arrival they found that an adult male bicyclist was in critical condition.
The driver of the bicycle was treated on the scene shortly after being struck, by EMS. He was transported to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital, but was later life flighted out of town. At this time the victims identity has been withheld to give the family time to be notified. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the collision.
The preliminary investigation at the scene showed that the person on the bicycle was traveling West on Martin Luther King Blvd when they were struck by the truck that was traveling south bound coming out of the softball complex.
Yesterday the Nacogdoches Police Department stayed on the scene to collect further evidence. At the time all east bound and west bound traffic on MLK Blvd was rerouted. No further information has been released at this time about the incident.
