A Florida man who pleaded guilty to three counts of DUI manslaughter in 2007 after police found drugs in his system has filed a lawsuit against the three people he killed on Christmas day of 2007.  He claims they were the real cause of the accident.

Cherokee County Republican Party Chairman Stephen Looney is facing felony theft charges stemming from his work with Adult Protective Services.

Looney is charged with tampering with government records with the intent to defraud or harm, and theft of property greater than $500 but less than $1,500 by a public servant.

It happened Wednesday morning in Brownsville.  Police shot and killed an eighth-grade student in a middle school hallway after he refused to drop the pellet pistol he'd smuggled into the school.

15 year old Jaime Gonzalez died at a Brownsville hospital after police responded to a 911 call reporting an individual with a gun at Cummings Middle School in downtown Brownsville.

School officials say the incident started when the boy assaulted another student.  When teachers intervened they discovered the pistol and called for police assistance.
