There will be a huge event in Wells today benefitting the family of David and Davion Stone.  12-year-old David was killed when the motorized scooter he was riding was struck by a vehicle.  His younger brother Davion has been in a Shreveport hospital receiving treatment.

Tommy Martin of Hemphill and Lonnie Stanley of Huntington were inducted into the Texas Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in Athens this past Saturday night.

About 100 family and friends were on hand to watch the presentation and the videos that showed their accomplishments and legacy.

This morning, officials with the Lufkin Police Department released details concerning yesterday’s discovery of a man found dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The man’s name was also made public for the first time.

A tragic East Texas story has become a major news maker spanning the globe.

Less than two weeks ago, Vanessa Clark of Lufkin was convicted of child endangerment when for the 2nd time in as many years one of her infant sons died after sleeping in her bed.

She now faces sentencing which could result in up to 20 years in prison…and Nancy Grace, who hosts a show on Headline News, will be featuring the story tonight.

Tornado watch for all of East Texas continues in effect until 10pm.  Tornado warnings have been issued over the past hour for the cities of Sulphur Springs and Mt. Pleasant, however those cells are moving north and northeast.

A large line of severe storms extends at this time from Greenville to near Corsicana to Waco.  Hail, high winds, and heavy rain have been reported in this line.  This line continues to develop southward.

Deep East Texas could start seeing storms within the next two hours.

5 short months ago, November 2011, things were looking very bleak for East Texas lakes.  After suffering through last year’s historic drought, many lakes were down at least 10-12 feet.

And the outlook was not promising.
