Red water seems like it might come from a horror movie, but in this case it's coming from the water itself.  It's just a faint reddish-brown actually, and if you travel to Corpus Christi this weekend, you might see it. It's an algae bloom that's causing the red tide off the coast of southern Texas, and it killed some fish this week.  Texas Parks and Wildlife officials said fish kills showed up near Corpus Christi and at San Jose Island, and even the Weather Channel is watching it closely.  They think the bloom could last anywhere from a few weeks to several months.

Will there be an impact on the food that comes from the Gulf?  It's a toxin that causes the algae bloom, and biologist think it can stay in the tissue of oysters, clams, and mussels for weeks after red tide is no longer visible in the water.

First Blue Bell ice cream, and now this.  Stay tuned.
