This has been the main issue for many parents for as long as I can remember. There just hasn't been enough activities or events for kids to do in East Texas.

Maybe that way of thinking is not exactly right, however. Here are a few suggestions that might brighten your kid's day.

    Trampoline Park

    Hijinx

There is a trampoline park in between Hudson and Lufkin.

It will cost $12 an hour per person entering the facility, and requires special socks that cost $3 (which you get to keep, and not pay for the next times)

    Books

We've got great libraries, and a few local bookstores. If you've got a small child that loves stories, Absolutely Fiction Books in Lufkin has StoryTime events on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month, where the lovable Heather Barney will enthusiastically read children books to your kids. This engages your child's imagination, and the owners of the shop sometimes have special surprises and giveaways.

The Texas Forestry Museum has too many great kid specific events to list. Give their website a visit and see what's on their schedule.

The Angelina Arts Alliance sometimes has family oriented events and shows for the kids. Check their schedule of events here.
