We all gripe about having to take our shoes off when we go through airport security, but according to a list of items confiscated this year by the TSA, footwear may be the least of its concerns.

Federal prosecutors in Connecticut say a state trooper, a police officer and three Transportation Security Administration officers based at airports have been arrested on charges of conspiracy to distribute tens of thousands of highly addictive painkiller pills.

Texas lawmakers adjourned their special session Wednesday without passing a ban on Transportation Security Administration pat-downs, to the dismay of staunch conservative critics of the agency.
