Can you really ever have too much mud? I don't think so, but you could have too much lightning, and severe weather. So the Nacogdoches Jaycees have released a plan for the situation. The event is still very much on for tomorrow. I am sure the planners are enjoying this cool weather while setting everything up for the the Red Dirt Mud Run.

WEATHER MODIFICATION

The weather forecast indicates that there may be a chance of lightning around midday. Therefore, we are making two changes:

1) We are adding an early heat at 7:30am. Any runner can participate in this heat. Just show up with your race bib (received at packet pick up) to show proof of registration. There is no need to notify us of your heat change.

2) All heats, except the 9:00 am heat, are now "open heats". This means regardless of the heat you signed up for, you may participant in any heat, as long as you show up with you race bib (received at packet pick up). There is no need to notify us of your heat change.

We are running the race as scheduled.

We have weather safety procedures in place to protect runners, spectators, and volunteers. All weather related changes will be communicated via email to registered runners and via Facebook and on site.

Reminder: Packet pick is from 5-7pm tonight at the Nacogdoches County Expo Center, and tomorrow before 11am on site.

Thank you,
Nacogdoches Jaycees

Got Mud? This is a great way to get some if you don't! Get dirty with the Red Dirt Mud Run at the Nacogdoches Expo Center, this Saturday April 13th 2019. It's a 5k course with over 20 obstacles. You can run down the trails, slosh through trails, skip through the woods, jump across creeks, and crawl under wire. If you are looking for a race that will push you, this is it, are you tough? Check them out on Facebook, Red Dirt Mud Run.

The Nacogdoches Jaycees have their hands in all kinds of great organizations all over Nacogdoches. Supporting this event gets you a great feeling of helping your community along with having a great time. This is the 7th Annual Mud Run. It could be raining, but I think that is the point of a Mud Run, hopefully there will not be lightning.
