A little over 3 years ago, prayer warriors raised their voices asking God to heal Lufkin Police Officer Randy Stallard in his battle with throat cancer.  After chemotherapy and radiation treatments Officer Stallard was declared cancer free.

Prayer warriors...we need you again.

According to the 'Stallard Strong' Facebook Page, the retired Lufkin Police Officer is in a local hospital fighting complications from COVID-19.  Stallard is currently in the intensive care unit (ICU) and has been intubated. The page goes on to ask prayer groups to include him on their prayer lists.

Officer Stallard was on the Lufkin Police force for over 27 years before retiring earlier this year.  He didn't retire from serving his community, however.  Stallard moved on to become Resource Officer at Central Elementary in Pollok. The Lufkin Daily News did a feature story on Stallard's move to this new job and how he was successfully acclimating himself with students on campus.

For years, Stallard has also been a familiar face and voice with the Crime Stoppers Band.

Thursday, October 7, a prayer vigil will be held in the back parking lot of St. Luke's Health Memorial Hospital in Lufkin.  The event will start at 5:30 pm, but attendees are asked to start gathering around 5:15.  Pastors from around the area will be on hand to lead everyone in prayers for the complete healing of Officer Stallard. You are encouraged to bring posters, flags, candles or anything else to show your support and love for Randy.  Look for the #StallardStrong sign on Ellis Street.
