NBA Hall of Famer, Shaquille O’Neal, Bringing His Big Chicken to Texas
NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal is bringing his Big Chicken to Texas.
Bok Bok! Big Chicken
Big Chicken Shaq opened his first Big Chicken in Las Vegas in 2018. Since then, his team has worked to grow the brand with additional locations in Glendale, California, Seattle Climate Pledge Arena, New York’s UBS Arena, and a couple of Carnival Cruise ships.
Welcome to Texas
News 4 San Antonio reported that Big Chicken recently signed a deal to bring the fast-casual chicken chain to 50 new locations in Texas. This goes along with the recent announcements of new locations being added to Central Oklahoma, Chicagoland, Arizona, and Greater Los Angeles markets.
Shaq tells QSR Magazine,
“Big Chicken wouldn’t be growing like it is without the team behind it. My team has done a fantastic job making sure we’re growing in the right way, with the right people. Now, we’re going even BIGGER in Texas and I’m excited to be teammates with Fazil, Frank and Noordin.”
Emily Williams Knight Ed.D., President and CEO of Texas Restaurant Association, says,
“Big Chicken is exactly the kind of brand that succeeds in Texas: pioneering and bold, yet rooted in delicious tradition. Our restaurant industry’s rich diversity is our greatest strength, and we’re absolutely thrilled that Shaquille O’Neal and the Big Chicken team are joining us. Welcome back home to Texas, Shaq.”
Will Central Texas Get Some Shaq Chicken?
I haven't seen an official list of all 50 new locations in Texas, but we do know that San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, and Austin will get new locations.
This is great news for those looking for one more chicken option.
