Lufkin Teenager Wanted in Connection to Wednesday Night Shooting
A Lufkin man was taken to a local hospital after being shot in the leg during a disturbance. According to a report from the Lufkin Police Department, a warrant has been issued for a man following the shooting that occurred Wednesday night (10/6) on Edwards Street.
Brandon Jaime, 17, of Lufkin, is wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Lufkin Police say the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. when Jaime shot a juvenile’s father following a disturbance in a front yard in the 3200 block of Edwards Street.
The father was reportedly trying to break up a disturbance between Jaime and his son when he was shot. Jaime’s brother Johan Jaime, 14, was also involved in the disturbance.
The father was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released.
Officials report that Jaime and his brother fled the area on foot, but it appears they were picked up in a vehicle shortly after. Because Jaime’s brother did not return home following the incident, his mother reported him as a runaway this morning.
Jaime is described as a 6’ tall, 120-pound Hispanic male with brown hair and brown eyes Witnesses said he was wearing a camo hoodie with a black hood, jeans, and tennis shoes. His brother is similar in appearance but with longer, curly hair.
Anyone with information on their location is asked to call the Department at 936-633-0356 or Crime Stoppers at 936-639-TIPS. Crime Stoppers tips can also be submitted online at 639tips.com.
