When one door closes another door opens is how the saying goes, and this also applies to restaurant doors. Recently Nacogdoches residents were sad to hear that Nac Cocina, in the old Posado's building at 1315 North Street, abruptly closed for good.

Mia Cocina/Nac Cocina was only open for about a year, but it was quickly a favorite in town for food and as a venue for trivia nights and live music. Closing just before classes started at SFA and the customers a new college year brings, it really didn't make too much sense.

It could be a coincidence that this has happened or it might have been the plan all along, but Lufkin / Hudson favorite Guacamole's Mexican Grill and Cantina will be moving a new location into that spot and Nacogdoches residents are stoked.

Guacamole's Mexican Grill And Cantina Opening Up New Location

Guacamole's is currently located at 2660 Ted Trout Drive down HWY 94 in Hudson right outside of the loop in Lufkin. It's not too far of a drive for a sneak peek of things to come if you live in Nacogdoches.

They are known for having live music and great margarita specials. They also have a lot of seafood items on the menu. You can get a whole fried tilapia with the head still on, so you know it's authentic.
