A U.S. district judge on Monday sentenced a Lufkin man to life in federal prison for giving the order to have two people killed nearly four years ago.

Carl Carver, 44, pleaded guilty on Jan. 19 to committing a violent crime in aid of racketeering activity, specifically admitting to directing two Aryan Brotherhood of Texas members to murder fellow member David Mitchamore, a U.S. Attorney’s Office press release stated.

The bodies of Mitchamore, also known as “Super Dave,” and his girlfriend, Christie Rochelle Brown, were found in Etoile on Aug. 10, 2007. Both had been shot in the head.

According to information presented in the Beaumont court Monday, “Carver was not only a member, he was a general of the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas (ABT), a race-based organization that operates inside and outside of state and federal prisons throughout Texas and the United States.”
