Lockheed Martin is Bringing More Jobs to East Texas
A plan to expand a current East Texas facility will create over one hundred new jobs at Lockheed Martin, and that will increase the number of employees by about a third. Check this out to stay on top of the job boom.
If you're at that point where you're ready to go anywhere to land a good job, this could be it. Re-location doesn't even involve leaving East Texas.
The Lockheed Martin facility in Lufkin expanded about eight years ago, and it's showing no signs of slowing down. Another expansion will be finished soon, and that will add 31,000 square feet of space and bring another 125 jobs to the payroll. Business has been booming, and with success of electronic missile programs, more orders have been rolling in.
The company performs circuit card assembly, wire harness assembly, final assembly, and testing for guided missile programs and guided multiple launch rocket systems, and many of the necessary components are assembled right there at the plant. With the expansion, they'll have more space to do it.
A building that's adjacent to the current Lockheed Martin facility on North John Redditt Drive in Lufkin is being renovated, and it should be finished in the spring. The plan is to move into the new space in the first quarter of 2019, according to KTRE. Lockheed Martin is putting about $3.5 million into the expansion project.
Job sites like Glassdoor and Indeed will add to current job listings as the company gets closer to the move-in date, so keep checking those sites to land your new gig.
